L’Etoile

Linda Pisano’s costume designs in Alexis Emmanuel Chabrier’s French farce “L’Étoile,” with director Alain Gauthier and set designer Tim McMath.

“Alain asked us to explore steampunk as an aesthetic vehicle for telling the story. We ended up with traditional steampunk for the oppressed workers, baroque-punk for the outrageous courtiers (and the King), while the visitors from a neighboring kingdom come wearing Victorian inspired goth-punk.” -Linda Pisano

Each costume design book is crafted by Pisano and includes inspirational research, costume sketches and swatches. See some of the pages from Pisano’s book below.
